Important Milestone in Cancer Therapy

As of January 2017, the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) will include hyperthermia treatment in combination with radiation therapy as a covered therapy in the basic health insurance catalog of Switzerland. A main hyperthermia research partner and board member of the IT’IS Foundation, Professor Stephan Bodis of the Oncology Center of Aarau cantonal hospital and the Institutes for Oncology / Hematology of Baden cantonal hospital, was the driving force behind this great success. A team from the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam NL has published a comprehensive 3D Atlas of Human Embryology. The atlas is made freely available to the scientific community to facilitate embryology education and research.

Latsis Symposium 2016 ETH Zurich on Personalized Medicine, June 27–29, 2016

The IT'IS Foundation joined forces with the Competence Center Personalized Medicine UZH/ETH to host the Latsis Symposium 2016 on Personalized Medicine at the ETH Zurich, June 27 – 29, 2016. More than 250 attendees assembled to explore a wide range of topics on research and policy in precision medicine with leading experts from clinics, universities, regulatory agencies, and industry. The event closed with a well-attended German-language public event on Wednesday evening, June 29.
